Slide-A-Mark
Slide-A-Mark Advantage
The Columbia Marking Tools SLIDE-A-MARK™ series delivers 6 to 10 tons of marking force with a patented soft-impact air hammer system designed for durability, low noise, and seamless integration into automated production lines.
Key Features:
- Patented Soft-Impact Marking: Minimizes noise and mechanical shock, ideal for delicate assemblies or noise-sensitive environments. This feature allows for the use of external tooling including: holders, numbering head, and anvils and staking tools.
- Telescoping Slide Action: Easily accommodates stamp holders for extended legends and CMT “Select” series numbering heads for randomized machine codes.
- Infinite Rod Orientation: By loosening the rod collar clamp, operators can adjust the radial position of the rod to any angle for maximum flexibility.
- Consistent Marking Depth: The internal air hammer delivers uniform force from 1/2" to the full stroke length, ensuring consistent marks even on parts of varying sizes.

This heavy-duty marker is ideal for mounting into existing automation where space constraints and fixture clearances make standard approaches costly. Its telescoping action eliminates the need for external approach slides, simplifying installation and operation.

Slide-A-Mark Markers and Tooling
751/851 8 and 10 ton Slide-A-Marks
Models 751 (8-Ton) and 851 (10-Ton) feature telescoping systems that provide a wide array of integration options. The Slide-A-Mark feature acts as a self-clamping device, minimizing the need for additional fixturing. Additionally, the radial rod orientation is infinitely adjustable by loosening the front collar clamp on the rod. Models 751 and 851 are also available with a variety of holders and numbering heads to suit different marking applications.
Standard Holders Model 751K
The Slide-A-Mark K style holder is offered in a wide range of samp capacities. The outer dimension of the holder is dependent on the stamp capacity. The holders are used in combination wth the 751-OK or K style rod. This rod uses a steel ball and set screw to hold the tooling onto the marker.
Floating Holders Model 751KFL
When marking sheet metal parts with longer legends, maintaining consistent mark depth and clarity across the full length can be challenging—especially when the marking surface isn’t perfectly flat or the part isn’t aligned perpendicular to the marking tool. To solve this, Columbia Marking Tools developed the "Floating" Holder, a specialized adapter designed to compensate for surface irregularities and deliver a uniform mark from end to end.
Adapters For CMM Retainers and Tooling
The Slide-A-Mark adapters allow for use of common stampng tooling in secondary marking operations. THe standard retainers and type are normally designed into the oroginal part stamping dies - this solution allows for cost reduction of inventory by utilizing standard tooling with the Slide-A-Mark.
