Historically, dot peen or pin stamp systems are dependent on a movable X and Y axis for positioning the marking head. The new ILM In-Line-Marker system uses the dot peen technology without changing the position of the marking heads. As the work piece moves past the marker (for example along a conveyor), this motion becomes the equivalent of the X axis motion. The offset marking heads are each positioned to mark a portion of the Y axis, and this simulates the Y axis motion. A continuous single line of characters may be marked. The system comes with 7 or 9 heads. The standard software in the system controller allows the marking of texts, serial numbers, Logos (preloaded), date and time. A software upgrade and the use of a windows software package is required to mark Matrix-2D codes. Software upgrades include integration into an Excel or other database program. The controller uses a USB connection to connect to a PC interface. All Windows operating systems (except Vista) are supported. Applications:
