Air Impact Marking
The air impact marking method is widely used method of making an indented mark into metal or plastic parts. The simple process of impacting a steel stamp or a marking die into the part is taken to the next level as it is installed into a pneumatic air cylinder. Sometimes the marking methods used by these marking machines is called DPM or Direct Part Marking. When compressed air enters the cylinder the rod and integrated steel stamp move forward. This forward motion and mass result in the impact force. The air impact marking is quick efficient method to mark parts automatically. The air impact markers are best used in applications where the product can withstand the blow of the impact. Also, the marking legend must be constant or vary in a predetermined way. Holders may be used to have interchangeable type. These marking legends may be changed manually every time the legend changes. |
Numbering heads may be mounted onto air impact markers. The numbering heads offer variability of the marking legend. Either quicker changeover of the marking legend, sequential numbering, or in some cases random numbers. |
